What are the health benefits of Kipper - whole?

A kipper is a herring that has been smoked and it is a powerhouse of goodness for your brain, heart, immune system and metabolism. Traditionally the whole fish is split from head to tail, gutted and salted before smoking. The history of kippers is unknown but the accidental smoking of herrings has been mentioned as early as 1599.
