Method

Simply follow our simply laid out recipe:

1) Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
2) Put the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat, add the onions and fry until you are ready for them. Turn the heat down if necessary.
3) Meanwhile prepare the rest of your ingredients, by grating the cheese and chopping the salami.
4) Grease a 6-hole non-stick shallow baking tray. The sort you make fairy cakes in.
5) Roll your scraps of pastry out so that you can cut 6 x 8cm circles out of it. You may need to squish the pastry together first. Place into the prepared cake tin.
6) Take the onions off the heat.
7) Share the salami and cheese out between the pastry cases.
8) Season the beaten egg well with salt and ground black pepper and add the fried onions.
9) Divide the egg and onion mixture between the cases evenly.
10) If you still have some scraps of pastry left, roll it out into a rectangle and cut thin strips out f it. Place these in a cross on the top of the quiches.
11) Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until they are golden.
12) Remove from the baking tray and allow to cool slightly before eating or save for later as they can be eaten hot or cold.

Remember if you do change the fillings, to save this recipe to your recipes and then edit, before adding to your food diary.
