Method

Simply follow our simply laid out recipe:

1) Put the rice in a saucepan and cover with water to 2cm over the top of the rice. Bring to the boil and then turn down to the lowest setting on your hob and cook until the rice is just cooked, and the water is all absorbed.
2) Once the rice is cooked pour it out onto a baking tray and allow to cool for about 20 minutes.
3) While the rice is cooling, peel and chop the onion into very fine pieces and slice the salami very thinly and then chop into small pieces.
4) When you’re ready pour the olive oil into a large frying pan or wok over a high heat. Add the onions and ham and fry for a few minutes until the onions are soft.
5) Add the rice and fry stirring to coat well with the oil. Add a few shakes of soy sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
6) Add the petit pois and the prawns and stir until they are heated through.
7) Now scrape the rice to one side of the pan and add the egg to the cleared space, whisking as you do it.
8) Once the egg is cooked, stir it evenly through the rice and serve.
