See the bottom of this page for the ingredients highest in pantothenic acid
What is pantothenic acid?
Pantothenic acid is a vitamin, it is also known as vitamin B5 and is
essential to all forms of life.
It is found throughout our cells in the form of coenzyme A (CoA), a
vital coenzyme in numerous vital processes. CoA is required to generate energy
from food (fat, carbohydrates, and proteins), and our livers require CoA to deal
with several drugs and toxins effectively1.
Why does it matter to me?
Watch out for…
Processing and refining grains may result in a 35% to 75% loss of
pantothenic acid, freezing and canning of foods results in similar losses4.
How much do I need?
The RDA (average daily intake to protect health for 98% of the population) for pantothenic acid is an AI (adequate intake) this is due to a lack of comprehensive data to arrive at an RDA. An AI is assumed to be at the level of an RDA or above it.
