Method

Simply follow our simply laid out recipe:

1) Coat the beef in flour and set aside.
2) Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onions and fry for 5 mins.
3) Add the sugar and cook for 5-10 mins, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelised.
4) Stir in the garlic for the last few minutes.
5) Pour in the stock and stir in the Worcestershire sauce.
6) Add the beef and mushrooms including 80ml of the water from the tin.
7) Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
8) Cover and cook gently for 4 hours or until the meat is falling apart.
